The best horror movies of all time have amongst them, understandably, some of the most celebrated at awards ceremonies over the years, and as we head into the 96th Academy Awards now seems like as good a time as any to highlight the Oscar-worthy talent involved in putting some of the greatest ever scares on screen. Horror often fares well in the technical categories, with our picks Alien winning Best Visual Effects and An American Werewolf in London winning the first Academy Award for Make-Up - taken home by legend of the craft Rick Baker, who holds the record for the most wins in this category with seven from eleven nominations.
