No need to look through the thread for any additional information. Over time the Tps goes out of calibration and your car's performance suffers greatly for it. I was VERY impressed with the difference this made to my car. It increased throttle response, smoothly revving across the whole rev range and makes for a far enjoyable car to drive. Again,I can't emphasize how effective this is,a must do! So do em' both eh! Originally Posted by EK1 Civic. Throughout the range of movement the voltage should increase smoothly and steadily without any sudden voltage gaps, drops, or spikes.

How to calibrate the TPS? Thread Tools. Hello, Did a search but came up with nothing.. IS there a way to re-calibrate the TPS? Problem is I took it off and now the CEL light is on.. I have a 95 Civic EX 1.

The TPS plays a crucial role in regulating the amount of air and fuel that enters the engine. When it malfunctions, it can lead to a host of problems. Fortunately, resetting the TPS is a straightforward process that you can do at home with just a few basic tools. It is responsible for regulating the acceleration and combustion of the engine and helps to ensure smooth and efficient operation. In most cases, the throttle position sensor is located on the side of the throttle body. This is the metal piece that connects to the intake manifold. However, the location of the sensor may vary depending on your Honda model and trim. Older Honda vehicles usually have a mechanical throttle position sensor, typically found on the side of the throttle body. On the other hand, newer Honda vehicles are equipped with an electronic throttle position sensor, which is situated on the top of the throttle body.

The throttle position sensor, or TPS, is used to control the actual throttle position relative to the amount of feedback it receives from the "Go Pedal. Honda has not made it easy to replace only a bad throttle position sensor, instead choosing to fasten it down with semi-permanent screws in many older models. While many people will simply replace the entire throttle body, this is obviously not necessary. Signs of a bad TPS are code 7 on the check engine light, hesitation or stumbling and misfiring at low RPM, and poor fuel economy. Keep reading and we'll show you how it's done. To remove the old TPS, first disconnect the throttle position sensor wiring harness. Remove the two 12mm bolts and nuts to access the TPS.

I have seen a few say to set it to the 20 volt DC setting to test it The lowest on mine is 40 volts. I loosened off the gearbox cable and I could get 0. A little coolant will run out, perfectly fine. I have looked at pinouts, but only find the tps signal wire from the ecu. Give the coolant hoses a squeeze to help the air escape. I would have to see a schematic to see where loss-points could be. I finely got one from a junk yard, but now it is has started to fail as well! Yo Jase! This adversely affects the driveabilty of the car, and probably fuel economy as well. I've seen some say to set the idle voltage at. Send a private message to spcrxracer. Once the code is tripped your ECM should use an artificial default value.
