This bike is maintenance-free. I ride it every day. One time I did ride it in 5 degree weather Jan '15 and had to hit the starter for at least a full minute before it started--but You cannot beat this, and you can't even get close with another bike. It holds a full-face helmet and a half helmet, and rain pants, jacket, gloves, and miscellany, plus whatever you put in the glovebox. Or a full grocery run for 1 person with no issues.

Scooters as urban transport. The Honda Elite looks to me to have been designed for urban transport. With liquid cooling and fuel injection it should run well for a long time in a variety of conditions. Most scooter manufacturers go from 50cc to cc with nothing in between. In other countries, cc sizes are much more common. There are those who claim that the Elite 80 came about to match the power of the 50cc 2-stroke scooters back in the day. The Elite 80 is a 4-stroke, as is the new Elite This Honda Elite clearly demonstrates that very good quality products can come out of mainland China. In fact, Elites have historically been made outside of Japan. Until the mid s, all Honda Elites were manufactured by Kymco of Taiwan. The US market has been deluged for years with very low quality scooters out of mainland China.

I was looking at the Piaggio Liberty or and the Honda has a similar look to the Piaggio. Well, Honda already has two 50s for the low end of the market and the new SHi is more a freeway-legal blaster, with the cc Silverwing meeting the needs of the uber-commuter. No, but I wanna be.
