Hoid
Hey, all. Brandon here, hoid. With the release of this hoid, there have been some minor updates to continuity that I think some of you will find relevant. For those unfamiliar with the backstory, this little behind-the-scenes action has been a source of some consistent problems.
Hoid is former King Elhokar 's Wit and entertainer. He knows useful, important things. The King's Wit was not a silly court fool such as one might find in other kingdoms. He was a sword, a tool maintained by the king. Insulting others was beneath the dignity [of] the king, so just as one used gloves when forced to handle something vile, the king retained a Wit so he didn't have to debase himself to the level of rudeness or offensiveness. Hoid is trying to accomplish something on Roshar , something that he thinks is the most important purpose he's ever had. His "old friend" i.

Would someone with a strong moral compass such as Kaladin and Dalinar consider Wit's alignment moral? Dalinar is more likely to understand than Kaladin, because Dalinar's been in positions. Kaladin is less likely to, but it depends on what aspects of what Hoid's doing you're taking about. At the end of Oathbringer, Hoid is there, and he uses the Breath to talk to the doll, and he gives the doll to K-whoever - he gives it to someone named Cob and Kheni. So, is Kheni a Parshman? Is the fact that Hoid has been a Dawnshard related in some way with the "bearer of the first gem" title? So, I just had a question about the name Hoid. Is there anything you can give me the "O" and the "I" and the "D"? The only ones that have the "O" and the "I" are these two right here. Am I onto anything here, or is that just a coincidence? Yes, in this [ The Final Empire ] he shows up briefly, Kelsier meets with a blind beggar at one point who is introduced by the name Hoid and that is the name Wit uses through most of the books. If you read Warbreaker he's in that one, there is a storyteller who uses dust and sand. He's in most of them Way of Kings is where you see him the most he's not in the other ones nearly as much but he's mentioned by name in most of them. He said no and then said something about how no one has read the end of Partinel due to its not being written well and the plethora of spoilers it contains. If Hoid was on Scadrial during the original Mistborn trilogy, and had a bead of lerasium, and took it and gained Allomantic powers, could he then go to Roshar during Stormlight and still have those Allomantic powers?
As Wit, Hoid will hoid tell someone a story in a novel.

I didn't know he was going to be a major character in the last Mistborn trilogy. I wanted something that felt unique, but also would be simple. Design , [1] unnamed seon [2]. Questioner From the very beginning did you already know-- like cosmere? No multiverse. And how could he have trusted whoever he passed it on to? Torn writing on paper, followed by metal bits, black charcoal dust from both hands, he crumbled clay, sprinkled golden dust around, bits of grass and earth, a white powder and then a spray of water that turned into mist. As I sit at the edge of these chasms, awaiting my first walk into the mystery that is Urithiru, I seem able to see far into the night. If I were, the very air would warp around me, sucking in all emotion, leaving only scorn.
