It can output true linear or bit images and even allows you to calibrate your camera with a color chart if you want to go that far though the built-in color profiles are already quite good. If you do use my profile linked above, be sure to check the Profiled Lens Correction settings and select your own camera and lens instead of mine, and save the profile again for yourself.
