One of the most well-known of these tales is that of Hanako-san: the ghost of a young girl who haunts the school's bathrooms. Hanako-kun manga Academy has its own version of Hanako-san's legend. Rumors claim that if one successfully manages to summon Hanako-san, hanako-kun manga, she will grant her summoner any wish.

The story follows Nene Yashiro, a first-year high school student fond of occult stories, who ardently desires a boyfriend. For this, she tries to invoke Hanako-san from the toilet. The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press.
