Things need to be tested before you buy parts you don't need. Check for proper spark , fuel pressure and injector pulse. Do you hear the fuel pump prime the system when you hit the key? Ed answered 7 months ago. You've got a lot more going on than a crank sensor. Mechanics don't fix by codes. They find the area of a problem by codes then use diagnostic skills to find the actual problem.
Gmc acadia cranks but wont start
We had a Acadia come in with symptoms of timing chains. Customer shut it down one night, and went to start it next morning and it was a no start. Not sure how long it was cranked on. When it got to the shop in was a start stall while popping in through the intake, and at times Crank No Start. I believe O2 sensor for codes. Compared with known good, decided they was good. Before going in cylinder i quickly looked at Relative compression again and this time noticed my coil wasn't firing as soon as engine started cranking. Replaced the CKP sensor with no change. At this point i realized i made the wrong call most likely off of noise in my waveform Grounding off the block instead of a cleaner location. I move on to In cylinder of both banks, even with the unknowns of the coil firing, which did show a difference of overall compression and off some on valve timing from a known good, but even not having alot of training in in cyl testing, I didn't fill it wound be off enough to cause my problem. It should run. At this point the engine would sometimes stay running longer than before, but pop really bad. I wanted to see what the Injectors was doing, so i done a injector balance using GDS2 and after two separate test showed the injector flow was all over the place from one to another. I also wanted to see the WORK being done with a amperage waveform, and here is where i set myself back even more.
Upload Photo Photo optional. They failed to remember the rod knock. One fuse is for each bank.
I volunteered to help some folks out that have fallen on hard times. They have a GMC Acadia that would not restart after stopping at the store 2 years ago. They need the vehicle to run so one of the spouses can go back to work. I stopped and bought a battery. When I got to the home I installed the battery and tried to start the vehicle. It is cranking and the scan tool displays about RPM. No hint of starting.
GMC Acadia making clicking noise when attempting to start the engine is a fairly common problem when it comes to no-crank starting issues, and can be easily fixed in the majority of cases. The most common causes for clicking noise and no crank in GMC Acadia are weak battery, corrosion on battery terminals, poor starter electrical connection, bad ground connection, and faulty starter motor. The leading cause of clicking noise and no start in GMC Acadia is weak battery. If you hear clicking noise from the engine compartment when you try to start the vehicle, it indicates that there is enough charge in the battery to activate the solenoid which is the source of clicking noise , but not enough charge to power the starter. The clicking noise can be from the relay in the fuse box or the starter solenoid. The easiest method to check the 12v battery in Acadia is by measuring the voltage with a multimeter. A healthy battery should have But keep in mind, a volt meter will only give you a rough idea of the condition of the battery. Sometimes a battery showing over Voltage drop test: You can also check the voltage drop at the battery when you try to start the engine.

Turned out that when I'd driven over some snow an electric wire beneath the car got pulled loose, killing the secondary side of the ignition. I was wondering if it was a GDI engine didn't look Thanks everyone for your support. New York. As other have said, get rid of the old gas because it won't start the engine. Log in. Any links to a good vid on this would be appreciated. WOW, thats something you think they would remember. It was 29 degrees Fahrenheit outside. In the end it'll be cheaper than you just throwing parts and money at it hoping to get it fixed. Grounded the plug out and turned it over and saw no spark. Any time i hook a fuel pressure gauge up i always take a sample of fuel. When I go back over I plan on taking some starting fluid. It should run.
Many different issues can cause the problem. We cover all the likely ones in an order that makes sense when diagnosing the issue at home. This article is written with the assumption that you are looking for a way to get your GMC Acadia started now, and is meant to provide you with practical advice to help aid in the diagnosis.
We had a Acadia come in with symptoms of timing chains. I know i did. South Texas At this point the engine would sometimes stay running longer than before, but pop really bad. These Vans are bad about the connectors under fuse box coming lose or corroded. Put in a used motor. The initial start will be rough. Maybe fuel is just too low. So the relay is a prime suspect. Thanks for posting, we all miss things but you didn't give up or throw a bunch of parts at the vehicle. Don't beat yourself up because of the time spent testing. If the injectors are firing then I can mostly rule out a computer problem. Gene answered 7 months ago.
I think, that you are mistaken. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM.
