From my recent perfume favourites I can really tell that my fragrance choices have definitely changed over the years. Today I'd like to show you a perfume that really obsesses me I don't usually review so many perfumes but I have really been loving a few recently that I just had to share with you. Today I'll be showcasing this lovely perfume by Giorgio Armani that had me obsessed for months! I love to try out perfumes and see how they evolve as the hours go by, I find it's the best way to discover new perfumes because as you may know fragrances develop differently on each person's skin. This perfume is one I kept going back to, sniffing my wrist over and over again during the day when I tried it on in store. Finally a couple of months ago I pulled the trigger and bought it for myself. Packaging I think Giorgio Armani has done a beautiful job with the packaging, it's simple and classic and yet very beautiful. The cap looks like an expensive jade stone and the style of the lettering and simplicity really call out to me in a luxurious way. Fragrance Here we have another perfume which can seem overpowering to start with, but then becomes sophisticated and sexy on my skin. Scent of a Dream which I reviewed recently was a clearly floral fragrance whereas today I have more of a fruity fragrance. I think I'm obsessed with the way blackcurrant smells on my skin, but the musky and spicy notes also make it very sophisticated rather than sickly sweet.

It's lightly floral but not at all too sweet.

It is a simple and linear fragrance, but what it lacks in complexity, it makes up for with its well-rounded, memorable scent. But, to elaborate a bit… the almost syrupy sweet cassis has a subtle green edge, a pleasant sense of depth, and is softened by creamy vanilla. I love it! The woody base feels smooth and soft and evokes to me dark, reddish woods in particular, for some reason. It smells warm, enveloping and well-rounded — with depth and elegance to its prettiness… or the other way around? Sillage and lasting power are great on my experience wearing it and smelling it on others. Notes: Top cassis; Heart may rose, freesia; Base vanilla, patchouli, ambroxan, woody notes.

I am usually not a fan of vanilla in fragrance as it can be really sweet but the mix of green cassis and patchouli give it depth and mystery. Perhaps the projection could be a bit better but it is average. The synthetic ambergris component here isn't the usual ambroxan or ambrox super that is dumped into most fruity marine ginger ambroxobombs served up on the male side of most designer offerings, but a cut above called orcanox, which is used for a more-accurate imitation of ambergris where called for usually in "prestige" or entry-level niche offerings. It's a fragrance that will never date and works well for all ages! The perfumer behind this fragrance also is the nose behind many Jo Malone fragrances, many of which are gorgeous as well. It has very sweet and woody top and middle notes, and was a bit too intense for me.

This sweet-sour and slightly pungent currant note paired with the sweetness and heaviness is simply not my cup of tea. So after double cleansing, serum, moisturiser and primer, and a light layer of sheer, glow inducing foundation, plus defined brows, mascara, flushed, coral cheeks and lolly pink lipstick, I was ready for my new perfume.
