The only transport infrastructure on the island is its road network, meaning you get around by either bus or taxi. For some reason, we find it very hard to find and swear that the stairs in the Yumbo are like those of Hogwarts. There are many many gay hotels, adults-only hotels, gay guesthouses, gay BnBs etcetera to choose from in Gran Canaria! Because the sun is shining mostly all year round, the dunes are more crowded than a shopping street at Saturday afternoon and the Yumbo Center offers you more gay fun per square meter than any big city! The gay beach is easy recognizable at the the rainbow flag at the little kiosk number 7 near the water. Whilst this is not an expressly gay event, it has prominent gay segments including a Drag Queen Gala and a boisterous Carnival Parade through the streets. Most buildings in Playa del Ingles are hotels and resorts. Love it or hate it, Sparkles is the beating heart and soul of the Yumbo Centre. Andi Martine, Dinah Might and James, along with DJ Michael Marouli and a whole host of drag queens, invite you to enjoy a sparkling, outrageously fun night out at Sparkles.
