View Staff Posts Post Reply, fracturing orb. The simple fix everyone would like to see is "increase the fracturing orb rate", but it won't so I just want to share my thoughts on how harvest was better than this. When fracturing was tied to harvest it required two things.

Fracturing Orb can be used to fracture a random modifier on a rare item with at least 4 modifiers, locking it in place. The Forbidden sanctum expansion introduces a new type of Shard that can drop from harbingers: Fracturing shards. When combined together into a full currency item, you get the fracturing orb. Fracturing Orb behaves the same as a fracture in craft from Harvest. It could be used on any rare item with at least four modifiers. When the orb is applied, it locks one of the modifiers in place so that further crafting efforts do not affect that modifier items fractured on. This way can only have one fractured modifier.

Fractured items are of a special type of item base that was introduced in the Synthesis league. Fractured items were used to create Synthesised items in the Synthesis league. Items with fractured mod s can be dropped from rare monsters, rewards from various content, or created via using a Fracturing Orb. In the Synthesis league, Fractured items could be found in memory zones, and some unique items dropped as fractured items. Fractured items from the Synthesis league could have more than one fractured modifier. Unique fractured items could only be acquired during Synthesis league and cannot be chanced from a fractured basetype. But it seems that one of the biggest yet has entered the fray. Recently, a new item has appeared in the game, shaking up a lot of things revolving around fractured items. It has singlehandedly replaced the Harvest Crafts for fractured items, making it a bit easier to actually get the darn things. Before, fracturing while using the Harvest Crafts was nearly impossible unless you had the pocket change for it. Luckily, the Fracturing Orb has created a clearer progression path in order to actually acquire fractured items. This makes those looking to make some moves with Harbinger farming a very lucrative venture. So, now you should have a bit of a better understanding of what the Fracturing Orb is in Path of Exile as well as some of its advantages.
