Fortify smithing
Fortify Smithing is an effect and enchantment which increases the Smithing skill. Fortify smithing is found in various items and can also be applied to others. Potion effects do not stack when used, so drinking more than one potion at a time will only extend the duration of the effect rather than increase the potency. Fortify Smithing can be added to clothing, body armour, fortify smithing, handwear, necklaces and rings.

Fortify smithing
If you are looking to increase the power of your armor and weapons in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , you can use alchemy to create a Fortify Smithing potion. It is worth pointing out that the potion only works when you are improving existing gear in your inventory rather than while you are crafting a new one. You can craft your own Fortify Smithing potion by gathering the required ingredients. If you have increased your alchemy skill in Skyrim , you will reap an additional boost when consuming the potion. To get started with the potion, you must gather the ingredients to create the potion in the first place. You will need to gather four main ingredients to create the Fortify Smithing potion. Many of these ingredients can either be purchased from alchemist vendors, stolen from other alchemists, or gathered from the wild. Here are the four ingredients you will need to acquire to craft the Fortify Smithing potion in Skyrim. You can find the Blisterwort in most caves around Skyrim 's open world , including in caves such as Halldir's Cair, Blackreach, and Chillwind Depths. The Glowing Mushroom can be found in limited locations. However, the best place to find them is in Tovald's Cave , in the basement of Honninbrew Meadery, near the exit for Bleak Falls Barrow, and in the Dwemer ruins.

Skyrim may not be a Dark Souls or Sekiro, but it can surely catch you off guard if you underestimate the threats the game world has in store for the Dragonborn. There are trolls, sabre cats, bears, giants, draugr, vampires, and of course, dragons. These are not requirements to have fun with the Fortify Smithing effect right out of the gate. Achieving all of this will take time and a lot of it. Fortify Smithing is a magical effect that increases the improvement level of weapons and armor by a set percentage. It only applies to improving weapons and armor, not creating them. The higher your Smithing level, the more you can strengthen your weapons and armor.

To obtain the Sabre Cat Tooth, you will need to fight the beast and remove a tooth from its mouth. You won't get far with that. See my reply in post 13 below. Once you have sufficient alchemy skills and the required ingredients, you will need to properly combine your materials to create the potion with the desired effect. Does it raise my smithing level temporarily to 44? Headgear and footwear cannot be enchanted though. The following items use this effect. Does the "Atronach" perk stack with magic resistance? Either way, I figured out the basic principle behind how the improvement work, so I will keep my eye on the formulas as I increase my smithing skill to know when to use my enchantments and potions to reach that next level. The wiki doesn't mention anything about the effect of higher-leveled material into the formula, so I don't think the item material matters, except only for the material perk points in the Smithing skill tree.
