In a funeral director and his with, Lawrence "Deke" and Martine Mills purchased the residence from Mr. Gehres and started the Mills Funeral Home. Mills died in and in a young funeral director and his wife from Warren, Ohio, Frank and Anita Flowers, purchased the funeral home from Martine Mills. The funeral business grew under the direction of Mr. Flowers and two different additions were added to the original building, one in and one in , expanding it to the present size. In September of , Mr. Flowers decided to retire and sold the funeral home to the Snyder family. At that time Dennis Snyder and his family moved to Mount Vernon to manage that location. Over the years additional properties around the funeral home were purchased and additional parking was added to accommodate over 50 vehicles. Through the years this location has maintained the charm and feel of a grand old home and serves as host to many families at their time of loss. The Snyder family has been honored to serve the families of North-Central Ohio for nearly a century. Founded in , four generations of Snyders have gone above and beyond to provide comfort while creating meaningful tributes to honor and celebrate each unique life lived.
