Fabricland carries a large selection of fabrics, sewing notions and accessories - making it easier for customers to purchase all their sewing needs in one store! Fabricland Distributors Inc. It was a small store and carried the most popular fabrics of the day, mainly crimplene knits, at discount prices and a selection that could not be matched anywhere in Toronto. From this one small store, Fabricland expanded into the warehouse concept and image, carrying a much larger selection of fabrics and expanding into sewing notions and accessories to make it easier for customers to purchase all their sewing needs in one store. Today Fabricland carries the basics, including broadcloth, flannelette, arctic fleece, cottons and blends, as well as coordinated fashion collections that make putting together a wardrobe sew easy; trims, sewing notions, patterns and accessories, and for the home, a huge selection of drapery and upholstery fabrics.

Fabricland, which started as Highway Mill End, is leaving its iconic s-style home at the corner of westbound Route 22 and Wilson Avenue in North Plainfield and is moving west on the highway to Route 22 West in Green Brook, a former Saturn dealership. Fabricland and its Metropolitan Window Fashions will occupy the front third of the building while Harbor Freight Tools will continue to be in the remaining two-thirds. For store owner Bruce Heyman, the move represents a "full circle" for the store, which has been in the same family for more than 80 years. Heyman's son represents the fourth generation of the family to work at the store. The new location is near where Heyman's grandfather consolidated his three Chain Decoations stores at one location on the highway that was then known as Route 29 in The store, renamed Fabricland, moved to its present location in In the retail business, change is inevitable, Heyman said, and Wawa has North Plainfield's approval to build a gas station and convenience store at the corner. But one thing that will not change at the store, which now is a metropolitan area leader in window treatments, is the attention customers will receive at the store. The store's community outreach will continue with sewing classes. In the future, the store may take the sewing classes on the road to community centers.
