The goal was to have a home assistant dashboard on the screen, but not lose Amazon Echo functions like the picture slideshow screensaver, reminders, large clock, calendar etc. The dashboard runs at device boot too, so very family friendly if there is an outage. My wife however never presses the back button so Fully Kiosk will return to the home page automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity, except when watching the garage camera. Attackers can also exploit what the researchers call the "FVV," or full voice vulnerability, which allows Echos to make self-issued commands without temporarily reducing the device volume. Because the hack uses Alexa functionality to force devices to make self-issued commands, the researchers have dubbed it "AvA," short for Alexa vs. As long as the device remains within radio range of the Echo, the attacker will be able to issue commands.
