While it can get a bit wacky and bizarre at times, Earthbound features some pretty standard RPG mechanics. Like most role-playing games, your party members all acquire and equip various weapons and gear that affect their offense, defense, and other stats. The only exception to this is Poo , whose stats actually decrease if you try to equip anything on him that isn't specifically made for him. For whatever reason, some of the rarest or hardest-to-find items in all of Earthbound belong to Poo. This is the only weapon that Poo can equip effectively.
Earthbound items
This is a list of equippable items in EarthBound. There are a total of four different slots on the equipment subscreen, where items with different properties are displayed when equipped by a character. The different types of items that are displayed in the slots are weapon, body, arms and other. If Poo equips any equipment other than his signature equipment, his stats are lowered rather than raised. Every weapon increases the user's Offense when equipped. All four of the main party members have a type of weapon that only they are able to utilize, being Baseball bats for Ness , Frying pans for Paula , Guns for Jeff and a single, rare sword for Poo. There are also two additional weapon types that every character except Poo can use, being the Slingshot and the Yo-yo. Out of all weapons, the Cracked Bat has the lowest offense-increasing property, raising the user's offense by 4, while the Casey bat and the Gaia beam have the highest, raising the user's offense by Several types of defensive equipment can be equipped on the body: charms , pendants , and the Cloak of kings , which is unique to Poo. Defensive items which can be equipped to the arms include bracelets , bands , and the Bracer of kings , which is also unique to Poo.

This is a list of key items in EarthBound. Ness can use it to access his account through an ATM , which are located in all of the game's department stores and hotels, and either choose to withdraw or deposit a certain amount of money. When the party becomes unconscious , no money in ATMs will be lost.

Monkey's love. Gives a nice defense boost and negates fire attacks. Transforms into Heavy Bazooka. I suggest equipping it on Jeff since Luck determines his gadget's accuracy. If you truly want this sword, it's a good idea for your party members to have a level around the mid-fifties to make this not too challenging. Platinum Band. Description: When eaten, you recover about 6 HP. Description: A key to the traveling entertainer's shack. This item can be rather difficult to obtain since there are very strong enemies like Chompasaurs and Ego Orbs that can annihilate your team. Jeff's Weapons Jeff is the genius of the group. Description: A decent little weapon. Bad Key Machine. Hungry HP-Sucker. Make sure you bring enough money in the pyramid, or else you'll have to go to the dungeon man for an ATM. Well, that's what my recipe says.

Casey Bat. Bag of Dragonite. It gives a modest defense boost and a very nice speed boost. I gave Ness the lone star pendant since he's the main healer and protecting him from ailments will help your party immensely. It may not be placed on any web site or otherwise distributed publicly without advance written permission. Like the Arm Armor, there isn't a lot of variation in it; just upgrading it over and over. Andonuts' lab. For the cheap price, I recommend buying it. Everyone 7b. You'll have to walk around some tall rocks and avoid being stomped to death by dinosaurs. Description: A brokien apparatus that is shaped like a trumpet. Same rules apply to Poo; equipping these on him will decrease his defense, but retain the Luck boost and status protections. Gelato de Resort. Notes: Wait until Deep Darkness, where you can buy its equivalent. Hall of Fame Bat.
