Ultimate Marvellater known as Ultimate Comicsearth-6160, was an imprint of comic books published by Marvel Comics earth-6160, featuring reimagined and modernized versions of the company's superhero characters from the Ultimate Marvel Universe, later known as the Ultimate Universe. The imprint was launched in with the publication of the series Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men inearth-6160, earth-6160, followed by The Earth-6160 and Ultimate Fantastic Four in and respectively providing new origin stories for the characters.

Peter Parker was the son of Richard and Mary Parker. He grew up with them until the age of fifteen, when they passed away, and Peter was taken in by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. However, Peter's reality had secretly become invaded by the villainous Maker , who sought to rewrite history to his image. Equipped with foreknowledge of the world's intended status quo, he interfered in the emergence of super heroes. When Peter was attending the science exhibition, the Maker stepped in and swatted the arachnid on Peter's hand under the guise of a concerned bystander. In the twenty years since, Peter met and married Mary Jane Watson , becoming a father to their son Richard and daughter May.

Earth was a reality that had the markings to mirror the history of Earth It was secretly invaded by the Maker , who used a time machine called the Immortus Engine to reshape the world to his image. The Maker most notably used a databank on super heroes stolen from the Baxter Building of Earth to erase possible threats to his designs before they could emerge, delaying the space flight that would have given Reed Richards and his crew fantastic powers, [1] facilitating the ascension of Loki to the throne of Asgard and the imprisonment of Thor , or stepping in when a teenage Peter Parker was about to be bitten by a radioactive spider , for instance. The Maker established himself as the imperator of the globe, and set up his base of operations, the City , in Latveria. Because of this, he formed a secret council between the leaders of each sovereign territory. They orchestrated conflicts and alliances between their nations to rally their citizens together. In present day, the designated "rogue state" that banded the rest of the territories together was the Eurasian Republic, with the intention for such mantle to rotate between each territory over time. Writer Donny Cates used the character during his run in the Venom comic book, with the character trying to restore and return to his original universe. At the end of the story arc, Maker returns to a devastated Ultimate universe, and later hinted he was planning an invasion of the main Marvel Universe.

Writer Jonathan Hickman already set the stage for the new Ultimate line in the recent limited series Ultimate Invasion. That book introduces Earth, a world where The Maker himself a refugee of the original Ultimate Universe attempted to suppress the emergence of Earth's heroes. The Maker's meddling will lead to a new generation of heroes appearing in unexpected forms, including Spider-Man, Black Panther and the X-Men. As with the original Ultimate Universe, the goal is to provide fresh, contemporary takes on familiar characters without the burden of decades of continuity. The new Ultimate line officially begins in Ultimate Universe 1, a one-shot special from Hickman and artist Stefano Caselli.
