Comment Guestbook Submission. Gerber, Frank, passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Southampton Hospital on Tuesday, March 5, at the age of Beloved husband of Joan Gerber nee Carter. Extremely proud grandpa to Nathan and Lauren. Also remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members and friends. Born and raised on a farm, Frank took to the profession at a young age. A master of his craft, family man, violin player and follower of Christ, he started with his first farm outside the town of Milverton as a newlywed with his wife Joan across the road from where he grew up. This is where they started their family. Frank, who realized that farming was his real passion, found a farm outside of Port Elgin and this is where he remained with his wife Joan for the next 38 years. He also spent many years cash cropping corn and soybeans.
