Doc ock becomes spiderman
The Superior Spider-Man is back in an all-new ongoing series debuting this November.
Comics are a fantastic form of storytelling, and some of the best narratives come when when extraordinary individuals are forced to reckon with the most ordinary of human emotions — love, frustration, jealousy. Jealousy in particular is a complicated emotion to explore because it's one often composed of other emotions like anger, resentment, inadequacy, and helplessness. It's also made up of thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, and a relative lack of possession or safety. Some even consider it a culture-specific emotion. However you think of jealousy, the old saying, "Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it" is evergreen, primarily when those wishes are rooted in envy. Otto Octavius' jealousy of Spider-Man gets him more than he could have intentionally wanted, because of everything it takes to be the person under the mask.

The tale of how Octavius comes to occupy the body of Spider-Man - and what happens to Peter Parker in the meantime - is about as complicated as it gets. What happens after, however - the rise and fall of the Superior Spider-Man, and the inevitable return of the original hero - is an epic journey that anyone can enjoy, regardless of their level of genre expertise. The die, as Otto would say, is cast! Years of repeated tussles with superheroes leave Doctor Octopus with such severe brain impairment that his body slowly starts to deteriorate. This leaves the decrepit supervillain stuck in a prison hospital awaiting his inevitable demise - until he comes up with one last-ditch effort to both extend his nefarious career and get revenge on Spider-Man in one fell swoop. As a long-time supervillain, Doctor Otto Octavius obviously has a few different ideas about how to fulfill the role of webslinging vigilante. Unfortunately, he also brings an exceptional taste for mayhem to the table. Afraid of causing serious damage with his prodigious strength, Peter Parker always pulled his punches when it came to dealing with supervillains - but the Superior Spider-Man has no such qualms. Octavius quickly earns a reputation for savagery when he beats non-threatening baddies like Screwball and Jester to a pulp. Though his methods are undoubtedly effective in terms of deterring wrongdoers, they change how the public feels about their not-so-friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Literally missing the part of his brain that grants empathy, Massacre is a cold-hearted monster seemingly incapable of reform. After the villain attacks the public, Octavius makes an extreme decision in the name of what he calls "justice. None of the onlookers are willing to tell the police what happened. He also adds an impressive, Iron Man-like HUD to the spider-suit, and, in keeping with tradition, four mechanical arms. Perhaps the most important addition to the new Spidey's arsenal is a legion of spider-bots.
Awakening in the infirmary, Superior Spider-Man learns from Anna Maria that James' aunt and uncle are in shock, doc ock becomes spiderman, Skein and Dansen are recovering form their injuries, and Emma is in a medically induced coma while Digger is still living with his head detached while asking for a staple gun.
Peter Parker, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man , has some of the weirdest rivals in all of Marvel Comics. His wildest opponents have, for the most part, never been given the live-action treatment, from a man formed by a swarm of bees to a massive weaponized wheel operated by a man named, well, Weele. These are some of the weirdest Spider-Man villains that Marvel likely will never adapt for the screen , but even the most casual Spidey fans know about Otto Octavius, best known as Doctor Octopus, the iconic recurring foe sporting menacing mechanical arms and an even more dangerous mind. Generally, it's a battle of wits and brute force between the two, but Doc Ock has always managed to find the most out-there means of messing with Spider-Man. At one point, he even hatches a plot to marry Peter's Aunt May in an attempt to gain control of a nuclear facility that she inherited we have so many questions. After years and years of feuding, the gravest and weirdest threat ever thrust upon Spider-Man came when Doc Ock became Spider-Man. Let's be clear: he didn't don a new alter-ego and pose in a fake Spidey suit and mock the web-head.
The Superior Spider-Man arc is perhaps one of the biggest shake-ups to happen in the Spider-Man comics in recent memory. As we're sure most of you are aware, the story revolved around the dying Doctor Octopus switching minds with Peter Parker, leaving Peter to die in Otto's decaying form. Peter went to the great web in the sky, and Octavius was left behind the controls of his spider-body and all its superpowered perks and privileges. The storyline was divisive amongst fans at the time, and while the general consensus on the series is pretty positive these days, there are still some who see it as a silly gimmick. However, even the critics have to concede that it was at least a break from the status quo.

Otto Octavius is a highly intelligent and prideful scientist, better known as the criminal mastermind Doctor Octopus. During an atomic research project, Octavius' body was fused to four mechanical, tentacle-like arms, also causing him severe brain damage that turned him into a criminal. He clashed with Spider-Man and went to become one of his greatest enemies. A digital backup of Otto's mind survived and housed himself in the robotic body of the Living Brain. However Otto slowly started to spiral into depression over the loss of information that helped him find what he called "The Great Equation", a culmination of all his life's work.
