This takes you to a History page where you need to click on Edit Discogs let it be yet again to get to the editor.

Catalog numbers The Dutch Beatles LP catalog numbers have been subject to some changes in the course of time. Pressings First pressings are usually from UK stampers. Later pressings are cut locall and all over the place, having long matrices, sometimes etched, sometimes stamped, and generally very messy. Let It Be The project was initiated by Paul McCartney , who felt that the original album's producer, Phil Spector , did not capture the group's stripped-down, live-to-tape aesthetic intended for the album. The album is presented in a form which Paul McCartney considered closer to its original artistic vision: to "get back" to the rock and roll sound of their early years [3] rather than the orchestral overdubs and embellishments which were added by Phil Spector to three of the songs in the production of the final Let It Be album. McCartney in particular was always dissatisfied with Spector's mixes of these three tracks, especially for the song " The Long and Winding Road ". McCartney's attitude contrasted with Lennon's from his December interview with Rolling Stone magazine. Lennon had defended Spector's work, saying, "He was given the shittiest load of badly recorded shit — and with a lousy feeling to it — ever. And he made something out of it
Let It Be is the twelfth and final studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released on 8 May , almost a month after the group's public break-up , in tandem with the documentary of the same name. Concerned about recent friction within the band, Paul McCartney had conceived the project as an attempt to reinvigorate the group by returning to simpler rock 'n' roll configurations. The filmed rehearsals were marked by ill feeling, leading to George Harrison 's temporary departure from the group. As a condition of his return, the members reconvened at their own Apple Studio , and recruited guest keyboardist Billy Preston.

At the time, it had the highest debut on the Billboard Hot , beginning its chart run at number 6 and eventually reaching the top. It was the Beatles' final single before McCartney announced his departure from the band. McCartney said he had the idea of "Let It Be" after he had a dream about his mother during the tense period surrounding the sessions for The Beatles "the White Album" in I felt very blessed to have that dream. So that got me writing 'Let It Be'. McCartney first began to play around with "Let It Be" in the recording studio in between takes of " Piggies " on 19 September During this stage of the film they were only recording on the mono decks used for syncing to the film cameras, and were not making multi-track recordings for release.
