Dark souls 3 lightning sword

It is one of eight damage types presented in the original game and one of the four Elemental-type damages. I used to have a yellowy color on my Dragonslater Greataxe's Dark souls 3 lightning sword but now it's a white color with a little bit of blue stripes here and there, anyone knows why? Silver knights also deal lightning damage when they rush at you.

At least i guess we can still use the original sunlight blade on the dragonslayer swordspear when we use it's weapon art. So I might be doing something wrong or I dont see something but what is really the point of spell weapon buffs while there are resins and infusions. The lightning infused lothric knight spear did about 1k dmg while the same weapon with raw infusion and lightning blade did like dmg if recall correctly. I was checking it by backstabing lothric knight right next to the first bonfire in lothric castle location. The only downside i can think of is not being able to change the dmg type while the infusion is put on. Am i missing something? Cuz as much as I'd like to, the weapon buff spells really dont seem worth spell slot except the case when you need that specific dmg type that is not provided by your weapons infusion. Kinda weird how magic weapon and carthus flame sword have really low requirements and this needs 30 faith.
