The Super Mario series is one of the most iconic throughout all of gaming, and part of the reason why it is so beloved is the wide cast of characters associated with the popular franchise. While Peach is definitely the most well-known princess in the series, Princess Daisy is also a fan favourite as well, and is slowly growing in relevance and popularity with her more recent appearances. However, the origins of the Princess are in some of Mario's more obscure and older titles, and many do not know where she came from. So, what is Daisy's backstory, why do people love her personality, and will she ever get her own game? Aside from being the princess of Sarasaland, not too much is known about Daisy aside from her personality.

Daisy is a woman with fair skin, vivid blue eyes, round, plump cheeks, and medium-length brown-orange hair that goes down to her shoulders and points upward. In her early days, between Super Mario Land to Mario Party 3 , Daisy had long titian brown hair that went down to her hips, making a more resembling of Peach. She wore a floor length dress in amber yellow and white. She also wore red crown with a daisy marking on it along with white short evening gloves and two blue earrings that are shaped like daisies. Since Mario Party 4 , Daisy wears a mixed yellow-orange dress with two bottom orange petal-shaped layers, a green centered daisy brooch, orange heels, white petal-shaped openings and collar, and earrings with emerald green gems. Her crown changes to old gold, but it has red and green crystal with daisies on it. In-game, however, she was depicted as wearing a blue dress as well as blonde hair, presumably due to hardware limitations.

Artwork showed her crown to be pink instead of the original red, with an oval, yellow jewel on the front, encrusted in six daisy mario, floral petals; additionally, on the sides of her crown were round, daisy mario, blue jewels. She is shown to wield abilities that she has never seen using since she is based on Peach, like her iconic floating jump, quite useful in Smash. Daisy is, of course, the Echo fighter of Peach, but stands out a little from the other Echo fighters for how she doesn't stand out from her counterpart.

She also appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Daisy has been primarily voiced by American voice actress Deanna Mustard from to , who was succeeded by Giselle Fernandez starting with Super Mario Bros. With the aim to create a scaled-down game based on the gameplay of the Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros Wonder will feature Princess Daisy as a playable character, and fans couldn't be happier for her. On June 21, we got our first look at Super Mario Bros. The planning department at Camelot wanted more characters with bodies better suited for the real-life sport than what most Mario characters provided, and they found Daisy to be a valuable addition when Nintendo suggested her. This was also after Nintendo turned down the game's assistant director, Yusuke Sugimoto, proposing a Wario -like version of Peach because they thought it would not be cute.
