Core Keeper is a survival sandbox game developed by Pugstorm. Currently in early access , the game features mechanics similar to other games in the sandbox genre such as Minecraft , Terraria and Stardew Valley , including mining, crafting, farming and exploration in a procedurally generated underground world. It was released to Steam in early access on 8 March and received praise for its game mechanics, art style, tone, atmosphere and ease of access to multiplayer modes. Core Keeper is a top-down sandbox game based around survival and crafting mechanics similar to games such as Minecraft and Terraria. The world is built up of square tiles of dirt and other materials which can be dug or mined to further explore the map and to gather resources.

Craft a pickaxe to mine walls and resources, build bridges to cross underground lakes, and place torches to light up the profound ever-present darkness. Tend your crops to grow a variety of plants by planting seeds found during your adventures. Find the perfect fishing spot and catch a plethora of unique fish. Combine the yield of your hard work farming and fishing in the cooking pot to discover delicious recipes with unexpected effects. Survive alone or play online with up to 7 other players. Work together to mine resources, fight, farm, craft and survive.

Right away, use the basic crafting available to you in your pack menu to make some torches , a pickaxe , and the workbench. Start digging through the walls around you, aiming for any shiny stuff. This will get you some dirt and ore , so craft your furnace at the workbench. That allows you to melt the copper ore to upgrade your pickaxe and craft a sword to take care of some of the slimes you might see nearby. The dynamic lighting in Core Keeper is gorgeous to watch as you run around with a torch, but if your hands are otherwise occupied, it can get pretty dark down there. You might also want to let the naturally occurring environment give you a little help along the way. Slow-moving slimes may not seem like much of a challenge, but if you stumble across a good-sized bunch, things can take a turn quickly. That might mean having to gather more resources just to fight your way back in and recover your property.
