At 27, Steph and Gian are our youngest contestants on The Block. They are childhood sweethearts who met on the school bus in year 7 and have been together ever since.

Dylan and Jeny competed on season 18 of The Block where pairs were required to renovate multi-million dollar properties in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria. The couple were up for the challenge, with Dylan coming from a trade background while Jenny had also been styling, decorating and renovating her own house on the Gold Coast. While the pair didn't have the smoothest journey on The Block, the couple did eventually sell their property, three months after it was passed in at auction. And following their The Block journey, the pair said they're planning to start a family together. Considering Jenny is a triplet, she is fully expecting to fall pregnant with three babies too. The pair are currently travelling the world together, last updating fans with a photo of them holidaying on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Their win was a record-breaker for the reality reno program, cementing the duo as legends on The Block. Since their time on the show, the pair have gone into their own business ventures.

Applications for the seventeenth season of the series opened in August until 27 September , looking for couples aged between 18 and 65 years old being sought by casting agents. Season 8 was the first time the series was titled Fans vs Faves.

The working title of season 8 was "Fans vs Favourites" as shown in the preview that was aired on the Big Brother finale.
