I live in Las Vegas and 2 evenings ago I went to pick up food, less than miles away from my home, it happened to be raining lightly, not a hard downpour or anything. I returned home and parked in the garage like I always do, and the next day I notice my right passenger side light seems to have condensation and possibly some water in the inside of the light. As you can hopefully see from my pics, the left taillight is fine. I was just at the service center last week with an issue with side camera rattling and I brought up the random weather striping around the trunk area. If so, how was it taken care of? I appreciate the input. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions.

On Model 3 and Model Y until now , Tesla was using taillights with both the brake lights and the directional signals being red. Regulations allow this, but it requires that the brake lights be a brighter red than the directional signals. However, many automakers go a step further and provide a completely different color for the turn signals in the taillights, which are generally amber. As you can see, the brake lights now have a brighter red and it does appear that the casing is a bit darker on the new ones. FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. Condensation in the tail lights is a common problem. It is a known Tesla issue. It is very annoying and unsightly. Condensation on the tail light can also be found in other car brands such as Alfa, Audi, Porsche and BMW which tend to also mist up. If water droplets are being created there is too much condensation. Older car lights were conventionally powered by 12V filament bulbs which generate a moderate amount of heat. If there was moisture within the light cluster or headlamp unit the heat from the bulb would generally evaporate it and keep the light clear.
