Club 4x4 insurance problems
By adgrant3 April 18, in Public Forum. Hi Guys Just though Id share out recent experience with Club 4x4 insurance. We had an accident with a cow over easter, taking out the front of the cruiser. I tried to call the insurance company only to find they are only open Mon - Fri 8 - 4pm. Given that it was easter weekend I called them first thing Tuesday morning to advise them of the accident. I was asked to supply photos, dash cam footage, driving history and rego papers for the cruiser which i did. A few days went by and I hadnt heard anything from them, so i called and got told once they has something to tell me they would contact me. On Wednesday 11th April I received a call from the claims dept of club 4x4 and they confirmed for me that the cruiser would be repaired and that it would be transported from Gin Gin to Mackay, where we are currently. They also provided me the name if the repairer. On Thursday I call the repairer to see that they have received communication from the insurance company and they confirmed for me they had Happy days or so I thought. On Friday I received a text message to call club 4x4 urgently, so I called only to be told by a claims consultant that my claim has been denied and my policy cancelled do to non-disclosure of 9 vehicle insurance claims prior to inception of the policy which was back on 6th April I was flabbergasted as I knew this not to be true, I asked them to send me the report.
I too found the "spin" difficult to digest.

Club 4x4 insurance problems
Getting part way through the …. Article from 4wdingaustralia. Getting part way through the trip and having two at fault insurance claims within two weeks of each other. To say I was peeved would be an understatement. They covered our highly modified Land Cruiser up until we sold it and then moved to the Isuzu Dmax we have now. Now, obviously this is not something you wish for, but the whole point of insurance is they are there for when a bad situation occurs, and to rectify it as seamlessly as possible. After a week of driving from Perth to Broome and enjoying some great spots along the way , we were soaking the laid back atmosphere up and enjoying a lot of time on Cable Beach. On the way, I pulled off the road at the bank to get some cash out. I jumped back into the car, put it in reverse and rolled back just enough to clear a little scooter in front of us, to pull back onto the road.

Ray Ray 18 Oct This sort of thing with so-called '4WD club' insurance goes way back. A fact that the insurance companies rely on. Note: Your post will require moderator approval before it will be visible. Hope that you get things sorted out soon. Stay safe! You also have the right to seek further legal assistance. Not sure exactly how this would be possible to assess, so maybe their water clauses need to be very carefully checked and questions asked, get it in writing!! Club 4x4 insurance - beware. They finally approved the claim last week for the repairs, however only minmal reapairs and didnt even take the time to ensure the engine hasnt been damaged by issues with the intake system via the turbo. Posted April 20, TonyH Posted April 18, Thanks Tony I will check it all out.

Ray Ray 18 Oct Thanks for this thread! On closer inspection of the report from IRS, there is 1 at fault claim for Jemma and 4 windscreen replacements not all for the same vehicle that are dated prior to the date of inception of the policy. Merv and Di Posted April 18, Peter Morris peter1 18 Nov Well said Ian. All the best Merv. So what 4 or 5 insuruers would you recommend calling for one's rig? CaptainBanana said:. I know others are watching this space. I jumped back into the car, put it in reverse and rolled back just enough to clear a little scooter in front of us, to pull back onto the road. Today I have written to the Internal Dispute Resolution committee and requested a review of the decision and I supplied them all of the above information. All the major insurers recognised early on that they were missing out on a lot of money by excluding 4WDs, especially since 4WDs featured very low in accident rates and claims less or no damage in minor accidents , so they jumped in with far more competitive offers. You have hit the mark. It is excellent thought. I support you.
