When I saw the tickets less than half price I decided we just had to give it a go! Unfortunately Baby Bear is too young to take part at 3 years of age so he stayed with Nanny while I took the big kids, clip and climb slough.

The centre has 10 climbing walls to try, there are exciting challenges available for all abilities. Climb an Alien themed wall with LED lighting, Astroball with nine giant spheres or race to the top face to face with your opponents. A climbing session lasts for around an hour. You will also need to allow additional time for getting your harness fitted plus you will have a safety briefing about how to use the equipment.

Best of all - Tom is a superb instructor - very competent and experienced, welcoming to all levels of climber, great teacher, passionate and thoughtful about what he does, and above all he creates a very safe environment. Tom tailors his teaching very much to the ability of the climber. I've been climbing on and off for a number of years, but learnt more from Tom in an hour than I had done in all my experience previously. I trust him completely and would thoroughly recommend Kuluar to any would-be or current climbers that want to learn and improve. An excellent venue for beginners and experience climbers alike.

I surprised to find they are basically in the middle of the reception foyer which admittedly felt a little odd! The Clip n Climb area has 10 climbing walls to choose from. They all have different themes and some are easier than others. The walls use an automatic belay system which keeps climbers safe without needing assistance. Before your session begins you have a safety briefing and get harnessed up.
