Distracted from the rebels' mission by the chance of fixing himself up, Chopper disobeyed Hera's orders to visit the stall where the leg was being sold. When he realized he didn't have the credits to purchase the leg, Chopper waited for the Ugnaught stall vendor to become distracted with another customer and then snatched the leg anyway. However, after taking it, Chopper turned around to discover the Ghost had departed without him. This led to a chase, as the vendor and a group of Stormtroopers ran after Chopper.

Later, chopper rebels, Ezra Bridger infiltrated the Academy for Young Imperials in Lothal's Capital City in order to obtain an Imperial decoder containing the location of a powerful kyber crystal. Chopper docked the Phantom on the Ghost. Chopper rebels Hera and Cham reconciled, Chopper and the other rebels bid farewell to their American fizz allies as they departed on their transport.

Chopper was never one to shy away from violence, especially in service of those he cared about. He was and, as evidenced by the Ahsoka trailers, has remained as unflinchingly loyal as ever, willing to help the Ghost crew and by extension the Rebellion at large defeat the Empire once and for all. A beat-up, patched together astromech droid dating back to the Clone Wars, CP — or Chopper —is a reliable droid who has served with Hera Syndulla for decades. Loyal to a fault, with a cranky personality to match his weathered finish, during the age of the Empire, Chopper served the Ghost crew in everything from ship maintenance to undercover missions and combat. When Hera left home to become a rebel offworld, Chopper followed, eventually working as a trusted member of the Ghost crew. Chopper was capable at manning the guns during battle, or trading his orange and yellow paint job for a more Imperial finish to go undercover behind enemy lines. The droid delighted in interacting with his friends in between missions, playing pranks on his fellow rebels, and unleashing more damaging antics on his enemies, chuckling electronically as he got the better of Imperial astromechs and stormtroopers. After many years of repairs and patch jobs, Chopper had a beat-up, worn look that matched his sometimes cranky personality. During a refueling mission on Horizon Base, Chopper stole a strut to upgrade his appearance.
