These vehicles are unlikely to meet the legal requirements for a motor car, particularly for construction and lighting requirements. I'll continue to do this until the Testing Guide is changed to say that I don't have to. The problem with not issuing a paper vt 30 is if the vehicle gets booked in for repairs, then there is no copy of the failure on hand to attach to the job sheet, so in the end we'll be printing a copy off anyway. This is not being mandated, and the existing policies on retention of records which may be print outs or could be electronic remains - nothing has changed in that regard. From our research, we knew most users were individuals — people forgetting when their MOT was due, people thinking of buying a car, or people selling cars.
