For a passenger, aviation law is a concept that receives little thought during a flight. To a pilot, cfr part 91, aviation laws are the rules by which they operate to ensure the highest level of safety. Different restrictions apply to different types of flights, and they can often create confusion.
A wide variety of activities are regulated, such as aircraft design and maintenance, typical airline flights, pilot training activities, hot-air ballooning , lighter-than-air aircraft , man-made structure heights, obstruction lighting and marking, model rocket launches, commercial space operations, model aircraft operations, Unmanned Aircraft Systems UAS and kite flying. The rules are designed to promote safe aviation , protecting pilots, flight attendants, passengers and the general public from unnecessary risk. However, another set of regulations Title 48 is titled "Federal Acquisitions Regulations", and this has led to confusion with the use of the acronym "FAR". FAA Order Title 14 is the principal set of rules and regulations sometimes called administrative law issued by the Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration , federal agencies of the United States which oversee Aeronautics and Space. This title is available in digital and printed form, and can be referenced online using the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations e-CFR. The table of contents, as reflected in the e-CFR updated December 20, [3].

The Boeing and later types, and Airbus A series, are well-known airplane types that were certified according to standards set out in FAR Part Retrieved February 18, Retrieved May 27, Then, when an aspect of part is met such as a paying passenger onboard , their ops spec for part is enforced. One of the most notable distinctions between parts and is the requirement for two pilots on a part operation vs. This constraint upholds the safety standards of air travel by ensuring that paying passengers are only flying on more restrictive and in effect, safer part and part operators. Portals : United States Law. May 20, Part details the regulations for commuter operations and on-demand operations also known as charters. Conversely, if the POI feels that the air carrier demonstrates good safety standards, they may allow for more operational capability. Part 91 Part 91 concerns general operations and flight rules. Part is a set of rules with more stringent standards for commuter and on-demand operations. Many of the FARs are designed to regulate certification of pilots, schools, or aircraft rather than the operation of airplanes. Part is the most restrictive of the three parts and is considered the highest commercial air travel safety standard.

Part 91, Subpart K prescribes operating rules for fractional ownership programs. This part contains airworthiness standards for rotorcraft in the transport category. The Pilot in Command PIC on a part operation also shares operational control with a flight dispatcher. However, another set of regulations Title 48 is titled "Federal Acquisitions Regulations", and this has led to confusion with the use of the acronym "FAR". For example, all part 91 restrictions apply to a part operator, but the more restrictive part rules trump their part 91 counterparts. Part 91 also effectively prohibits compensation for air transportation by only allowing it in a minimal set of circumstances, even then limiting the amount paid. Lapayowker, P.
