There are a number of places to explore on the Island from snowy peaks, to lava caves, all caves the island ark their own unique challenges. With large amounts of loot and Artifacts within, here are all cave locations on the Island in Ark: Survival Ascended. These are found in 10 caves throughout the various regionswhich each cave harboring one Artifact.

Some are easy to explore, others extremely difficult. If you survive the dangers of the caves, however, they each contain a variety of resources to obtain. Note that the Hard Caves spawn creatures at extremely high levels often exceeding , and that these creatures are untameable. Creatures within The Caverns of Lost Faith are also untameable, but spawn at standard levels. Note that Achatina spawn as high-levelled varients, similar to the creatures found within The Island's Swamp and Snow caves. Unlike The Island however, these Achatina are tameable. This page only lists the Dungeons and important Caves of Ragnarok.

Below you will find a map for the locations of all known caves so far. Thank you Venexis for your map and guide on Steam Community page for this game. Each of the land based caves is home to a special artifact that is only found in that cave. These artifacts are needed to summon the endgame bosses at the obelisks. The artifacts are contained within floating upside-down pyramid-shaped boxes with a white glow. Note, you may only carry one of each type of artifact at any given time. Each cave also has certain conditions like really hot or really cold along with jumps that must be made and small spaces. This cave has the Artifact of the Devourer hidden somewhere inside. Expect low temperatures and dangerous jumps in this cave. After a short swim through water the rest of this cave is a massive hole with ledges leading down. It's a simple task of following these ledges all the way around the walls of the cave to get to the bottom. There is a shortcut about halfway through the cave that requires a risky jump. You will easily see this as it looks like a bridge with a gap.

South Ice Cave.

Lower South Cave More commonly referred to as Hunter Cave is in the south-central part of the Island , just north of the Sandy Cove, and can easily be reached on foot from the western bank of the river just west of the cove. Begin your trek at approximately Cave entrance is in the right cliff wall, a few hundred meters from the beach The Lower South Cave is one of the easiest caves on the island, though it is still more dangerous than anything in the nearby surface environment. It houses the Artifact of the Hunter. Multiple creatures will slow and tranquilize the survivor as they swarm to the fight, and narrow, twisty passages and sudden drop-offs into crowds of creatures.

Alternatively, players can simply activate some Bug Repellent and use Grappling Hooks to traverse the cave, as the bugs will not attack them.
