Dragon Ball Super introduced dozens of new characters to the Dragon Ball franchise. Many of these new characters were introduced during the Universal Survival saga as participants in the Tournament of Power. Caulifla and kale of the participants who fans fell in love with the most were the Universe 6 Saiyans, Caulifla and Kale. The first female Super Saiyans in the franchise, fans adored their contrasting personalities, caulifla and kale, their epic fights and attacks, and their fused form, Kefla.

Caulifla is a short girl slightly taller than Cabba of slender build and fair complexion. She wears a low cut magenta tube top revealing her belly, low-set purple sirwal, long dark grey wristbands, and a pair of pointy dark grey shoes. Her black hair is long, wild, and spiky. In the anime, Caulifla's eyes are narrow yet big, with large black pupils, as well as thin eyebrows. In the manga, Caulifla's eyes are squarish, being rounded while Super Saiyan and in Toriyama's art. As noted by her brother, she has a very punkish attitude and is also recognized as a tomboy among Universe 6 Saiyans, to which she shows a strong contrast to the rest of her race, acting more akin to the Universe 7 Saiyans. Caulifla is shown to be very lazy if not self-absorbed as she initially refused to join the Tournament of Power even when learning her universe's or her own existence were on the line, until her interest was piqued by witnessing Cabba's transformation into a Super Saiyan, showing her desire to become stronger. In the manga, while she is a powerful crime boss and gang leader who effectively rules over a portion of Planet Sadala the territory which even members of Sadala Defense Force tends to avoid going there, she and her gang are depicted as somewhat noble thieves as they rob a transport to feed some poor children.

When Cabba attempts to get Kale to transform and the latter starts crying, Caulifla is angered by this and tells Cabba to stop. Article Talk.

Created as part of a collaborative effort between franchise creator Akira Toriyama and Toei Animation , the characters first appeared in the Universal Saga arc of Dragon Ball Super as antagonistic characters from an alternate universe to the setting of the Dragon Ball series: Kale was originally conceived as a derivative character of popular Dragon Ball villain Broly by Toei Animation staff, and Caulifla was personally designed by Toriyama [1] as a companion and counterpoint to Kale. The preview for the show's th episode showed Kale and Caulifla's fusion in silhouette at first, and some simply mistook the figure for Kale. We've already taken a deep dive into Dragon Ball Super 's brand new power level-- Goku's Ultra Instinct transformation --but in light of the show's most recent episode, it's worth explaining some of the other "modes" on display, including the return of the vaunted Fusion technique. Goku manages to dodge all of her attacks, though he was grazed twice by her energy, he then starts to charge a Kamehameha while dodging Kefla's attacks. Flight - The ability to take flight through the manipulation of ki. As it is her first time, Cabba explains that the transformation will drain her energy but once she gets used to it, it will no longer happen. Double Crush - A move in which Caulifla sets up eight red ki blasts into the air where they remain stationary which she can fire at her leisure or fire immediately after creating them, homing in on her opponent once fired. Because of Kale's submissive personality, Kefla acts almost entirely like Caulifla, but with an even larger ego. Also, Kefla did seem to be even more eager and excited when Goku managed to reactivate his Ultra Instinct Sign against her and the realization of being potentially defeated by him seemed to have made Kefla develop a strong determination towards defeating Goku to the point it appeared she was deliberately trying to destroy him in a fit of rage. Caulifla's ki attacks seem to have a unique reddish flame detailing. Caulifla also has somewhat of a cocky attitude and displayed this when she saw Goku and Vegeta become shocked at the overwhelming power of the Universe 11 warriors by saying that "Universe 7's warriors were nothing to worry about if they're afraid of such wimps".
