We held a vote on the future of the Tier List, and while a majority voted for a Description Project, a non-trivial minority expressed the wish to indeed do away with the Tier List and its many problems, but still have some form of numerical evaluation. Scoring was included within the scope of the UDP to represent the wishes of this minority. Unfortunately, however, the way the scoring information was used ended up being a detriment to the project as a whole. People ignored all the nuance of the descriptions and reduced what they took away from an entry was a mere Star Rating, treating it no differently to a tier. Worse yet they decided a unit was summarised as "good" or "bad" or better or worse than something else based on these scores. This means it not only fails to represent the minority it initially attempted to cater to, but also disrespects the majority's vote for a Description Project free from any such problems. At this point as the organiser of the project I deem the attempt to integrate scores, at least in this fashion, as a failure. They are certainly not worth the time to continuously maintain, and leaving them up will continue to lead to problems, so they have been removed. Going forwards, we will look into alternative ways to replicate the few useful functions of the score system, without encouraging reductive simplifications that detract from the value of the descriptions.
