The team behind designing new Pokemon seems to love making new creatures based on housecats and other felines. There are a ton of cat-like Pokemon, going all the way back to the original generation with the likes of Meowth and Persian. But, some of them are better than others, based purely on appearance and personality. Some Pokemon are based on foxes or dogs and look somewhat feline, but aren't actually cats foxes are in the Canidae family with dogs, after all. Pokemon like Eevee and Vulpix may seem cat-like, but they're closer to foxes or other similar animals.
