Time is called Beauty Kat. A painful story is told that comes out of a bad relationship and ends with a sad breakup. A young man named Ben Willis experiences the pain of breaking up with the girl he loves for a long time, and therefore spends days full of depression. He is a student studying painting in the Fine Arts department and is also very talented in this subject. Unable to forget the separation, Ben spends sleepless nights and must find something else to occupy himself in order to get out of this bad situation as soon as possible.

You may have seen "Cashback" on cable. It was a minute short subject from that was nominated for an Oscar and maybe should have won, about a grocery-store clerk who made time go faster by stopping it. As the film opens, Ben begins a voiceover narration that will last pretty much all the way through and, to begin with, replaces what his angry ex-girlfriend Suzy Michelle Ryan said when they broke up.

To help pass the time, he takes a job as a night shift employee at a local supermarket where he discovers that he has the ability to freeze time. As Ben adjusts to his new job and discovers the secret of his supernatural ability, he finds himself drawn to one of his co-workers, Sharon Pintey. He spends his nights sketching her and the other employees, bringing them to life in his artwork. Through Ben's narration, the film explores his thoughts on the value of time, the beauty of the human form, and the pain of heartbreak. He reflects on his relationship with Suzy and how he mistakenly spent most of his time obsessing over her rather than truly appreciating her. As the story progresses, Ben begins to distance himself from his co-workers and becomes obsessed with his ability to freeze time. He spends his nights in the store creating elaborate tableaus of the frozen employees, eventually leading to his discovery by the store's security personnel. Despite the consequences of his actions, Ben's experience at the supermarket ultimately allows him to move on from his past relationship and view the world in a more appreciative light.
