Need help locating the voltage regulator; tried following the wires arnes but could not locate. I have the operator manual and the parts manual which indicated a regulator rather than a diode but it doesn't show the location. Battery is not charging; measured output at battery terminal without the battery measured 4. Should be a little silver box mounted on the engine near the carburetor. You should read around If under 12 volts, disconnect the regulator and check across the two yellow wires, not to ground. If you see around 25VAC the regulator is pooched.
