The polo cookie is really fragrant and delicious while the pineapple jam is sweet but not too sweet. As always, the mochi is really stretchy and soft, retaining its chewy texture even when refrigerated overnight. The amount of fillings isnt super generous but the flavour makes up for it. I love Bread Talk, it is a great place to get some lunch and the selection is fantastic. Please bring Bread Talk to London; I can't see how it wouldn't be successful!! Over the years the range and quality of items seem to have dropped. Can be pretty expensive for bread items in Singapore, noticeably amongst the other bread chains like Four Leaves, Provence etc. The best seller item is the Fire Floss or Floss bun, which is still not bad. Worth a try. Can't say much about the other items though. Hope they bring back the Mexico coffee bun and the cheddar cheese bun they used to have. Whenever I go to Singapore, it part of my "tradition" to go to this bakery especially as it's only one stop up from where I stay at my hotel.

This is my favourite item from Breadtalk, and probably the only thing I'll buy from there. The vanilla chiffon cake sandwiches a perfect egg and melted cheddar, making this sweet yet savoury. It's great as a snack, but you'll probably need two of this for a heartier meal. The white version is filled with Taiwanese yam chunks amongst the yam paste, while the purple version contains a wine-soaked longan and purple-coloured yam paste. Generally, I don't like the powdery top for both as they tasted 'extra' and masked the flavour of the yam, when the amount of yam isn't generous to start with. In all honesty, Breadtalk has long been a disappointment because they always price their products so highly when the quality and quantity isn't even there. Neh-mind, I buy Sakura bread instead.
