It does not simply have a strong family resemblance to the earlier model, it looks uncannily as if the designers have taken a DM and stuck it on top of a box with a moulded fascia whose angled edges carry the DM's profile down to floor level. Of course there is more to the new model than this.

They allow the system to be biwired or biamplified, and apparently they are designed for use only with stripped wire ends, which must be passed through holes in the posts and then screwed down; dual banana plugs cannot be used, and even single plugs are extremely awkward to install because of the limited visibility and finger access to the connections. Tweeter height is about ideal and so the main detail to be determined was whether to point the loudspeakers straight ahead or at an angle towards the listening position.
