It might well be the case that we never see this rum for sale in Europe or the US. It seems to say firmly in the Oceania area of the Southern Hemisphere. So when I saw this on an Auction site I was quite determined to get it. There are bottlings available in Europe — some of these bottlings are under the Ratu brand. They arrived around 2 years ago and after a very brief appearance they seemed to all but disappear.

That the result suggested no additional sugar at all hardly invalidates the profile as described, and in fairness, it works…within its limits. Always liked it though.

So if we use 28 units divided by 40 and multiplied by 58 we would get 40 UK units. SMWS R The finish is warm and intense and very spicy. Reminds me of the rums from Guyana, mixed with a little Jamaica and a touch of agricole. For an overproof it does have a certain balance to it and some interaction with the oak it was aged in which gives a slight note of vanilla and spice. It works nicely with cola as well and most fruit juices.

This is a popular brand in the South Pacific with its heritage dating back to Patiently aged before the mast blenders select the best barrels to create the finished product. Dark mahogany in colour with intense dried fruit aromas finishing with molasses and caramel notes.
