Bottle Up has announced an ongoing UK expansion with supermarket Morrisons to bring its sugar cane BPA-free pre-filled water bottles to more than of Morrisons stores throughout August. In the UK alone it has been reported that over 7. Made in Wolverhampton, UK, Bottle Up turns renewable sugar cane sourced from Brazilian grasslands into durable, sustainable packaging; the bottles are then filled locally by Elmhurst spring in Staffordshire for minimum carbon impact. Bottle Up claims its sugar cane is a carbon neutral plant, as it takes CO2 out of the air, growing with little to no irrigation. Built to last, the BPA-free filled water bottles are dishwasher safe so once empty can be reused again and again.

Morrisons is offering free water refills at all of its petrol forecourts, as well as in store, to encourage customers and motorists to make the switch from single-use plastic to refillable bottles. Over 14 billion single-use plastic bottles are used each year in the UK — equal to 39 million a day — with the majority purchased on-the-go or at work. However, new research has found that 63 per cent of people would like to do more to reduce plastic, but claim the biggest barrier to taking action is a lack of plastic-free alternatives. At Morrisons petrol forecourt kiosks, customers will now be able to hand their reusable bottles to attendants who will fill them up for free, before sanitising them and returning them to the customer. The move comes after a week trial in August last year, where Morrisons said 18 per cent fewer single-use water bottles were sold in comparison to the same period the previous year. The Big 4 grocer has already installed over stand-alone water fountains in the Food-to-Go sections of its stores for customers to fill their bottles on-the-go. I have to disagree with a few people ,the water is fine ,I am an oap and I have no problems with the bottle , the top is fine and the bottle is not flimsy.
