The Blitz chess championship Rapid Chess Championship is a chess tournament held to determine the world champion in chess played under rapid time controls. Prior toFIDE gave such recognition to a limited number of tournaments, blitz chess championship, with non-FIDE recognized tournaments annually naming a world rapid champion of their own. The current rapid world champion is grandmaster Magnus Carlsen. Anastasia Budgetel from Russia is the current women's rapid world champion.
The Winners in each age section will become the European Youth Chess Champions of the respective age category. The first three players in each group will be awarded cups and medals and the first five players in each group will be awarded cups, diplomas and valuable prizes. Each participant will receive presents. The players placed in the European Youth Chess Championship will have the personal right to participate in the tournament in the corresponding age-category or a higher age-category. This privilege may be exercised once exclusively in the subsequent year following the year of the qualification.
