Keep your budget organized. The thoughtfully composed and pricey wine list includes some fine Burgundies, selected by Iain and Clare during their travels across Europe in the closed winter months. Take a look at our luxury cottages on Skye here. Very stylish and certainly a big add on to Portree. We called weeks ahead of time for our booking. The food is the best we ate on the island for the most part. All the courses were brilliantly creative and tasty! Highly recommend. This was followed by the pigeon and scallops for our 2nd course. Definitely worth a visit. We arrived during the covid fallout. Combining flavors that are not conventionally placed together or even found elsewhere in general was their forte. We got seated at 8pm which was a great surprise. Would definitely recommend if in Dunvegan. Excellent list of gins including some local Skye options.
Set in the front rooms of what was once a private house, and with just eight tables, Scorrybreac is snug and intimate, offering fine dining without the…. Three Chimneys. Loch Bay.
Absolute gem of a place overlooking the Loch. The award-winning Edinbane Lodge near Dunvegan is also well worth a visit. This seafood restaurant in Portree is known for its affordable and great seafood. Would be nice to be able to finish your meal and have a leisurely drink afterwards instead of being ushered into an extremely small snug with your kids with desert and drinks. Would definitely recommend if you're coming to Isle of Skye and book in advance! Edinbane Lodge is a charming and exclusive Scottish restaurant, with a long history dating back to It tasted good, but the description on the menu said cod with mash potatoes and a tomato jus, but it was more like chunks of cod, baked in with a ratatouille-like sauce courgettes etc and an almost pureed potato. All the courses were brilliantly creative and tasty! The staff was very nice and helpful. This was a miss for me. Stein Inn Another gem hidden away on the Waternish peninsula, the 18th-century Stein Inn has been making foodie dreams come true for hundreds of years and as such stands proud as the oldest inn on the island.
