Well friends, I recently discovered a company that has designed an intentional solution for that - Modern Lantern! They make beautiful, rechargeable battery-powered lamps and sconces that are ready to go wherever you need lighting - no outlet or hardwiring necessary. Modern Lantern was kind enough to send me a pair of their Emily cordless wall sconces in antique brass to try out in my home. All I had to do was mount a small metal bracket on the wall with two screws and slip the sconce over it. It was that simple! It makes my inner perfectionist a little crazy, but hey, I made it through! I decided to put my pair of Emily wall lamps in my office over my storage cabinet.
