Misty has chewed Ash out on countless occasions, sometimes with good reason. But ash and misty have been times when Misty has been a little too hard on Ash.

While Ash and Misty remain a popular pairing, especially among older fans who started with the original series, the truth is that their relationship had a lot less romantic hints in Japanese. That's not to say that Ash and Misty's potential romance was entirely a creation of the dub, of course. Why were Ash and Misty never a couple in Pokemon? What started as a mission to get compensation from Ash for her freshly burnt bike slowly evolved into an adventure filled with action, comedy, and heartfelt moments. Despite their constant bickering, the two were shown to care deeply about each other and repeatedly became flustered at the notion of being a couple.
