My PhD research focused on the use of millimeter wave radar for robotic perception, with a focus on state estimation and mapping for robotic explorers in visually degraded environments VDEs. Visual degradation can include complete darkness, thick fog and smoke, or high shadowing and specularity. Robotic perception in VDEs is an important research topic for a number of reasons. For NASA, perception in VDEs is necessary for exploring subsurface caverns on the moon and Mars; environments with thick haze like Titan and Venus; or situations where an aerial explorer like the Mars Copter can stir up large plumes of dust. Closer to home, autonomous robots face VDEs in search-and-rescue and disaster response scenarios and exploring subterranean environments as in the DARPA Subterranean challenge. Unfortunately, the most commonly used robotic perception techniques, vision and lidar, are severely limited in VDEs. So robotic perception methods that easily generalize to VDEs are acutely needed. A summary of the research I conducted over the course of my PhD can by found in the video below:. In my limited free time I also maintain my own projects in robotic perception as a hobby. My blog documents these projects with detailed descriptions and tutorials. Along the way I also sometimes post irrelevant but fun diversions, like how to power Nixie tubes with an iPhone charger. His previous coaching stops included as an assistant coach at the Columbus School for Girls, a volunteer assistant for Versailles High School, and as the head coach at the Miami Valley School in Dayton. He also participated in an internship with Ritter Sports Performance. But Kramer does have the support of a very experienced coaching staff, including Kevin Weldon , who was the head coach of the Dayton Raiders for 30 years before stepping back into an assistant job at the end of the season. Weldon, who carries considerable influence with the club, gave Kramer a glowing review on Facebook after Kramer was given the position on a full-time basis. I look forward to watch it develop.

In May , Montgomery County Police charged Jason Delano, now 44, with second-degree rape and fourth-degree sexual offense. Investigators allege that following an evening of revelry at the Bethesda Country Club, Delano escorted an intoxicated, year-old woman back to her apartment in Friendship Heights. There, the married father-of-three raped the semi-conscious woman in her bedroom, court records maintain. The victim would later tell special victims detectives that Delano took her virginity. The two were strangers before the night in question.
