With her 6.
But in a recent test run, Taylor experienced an on-track incident that left her shaken, yet undeterred, as she and her team scramble to repair her Chevy in time for the upcoming NHRA Route 66 Nationals in Chicago. The incident occurred during a test session at Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma aimed at preparing for the national event. We made several ish passes and then, with a little more power, the car went through [the traps] at At such speeds, the consequences of a mechanical failure can be catastrophic. Thankfully, Alex emerged unscathed from the ordeal, her skill and composure behind the wheel ensuring that she was able to bring the car to a safe stop. I blew my own doors off… and a windshield. And a rear glass.

Really, it all started when Alex was just a few weeks old! The whole, "it's in your blood" thing? Yeah, that applies here! From the time she was just a few weeks old, Alex spent the majority of her time at the shop, espeically growing up, as she watched her dad while he worked, and helped when she could! Alex's passion for the high performance automtovie industry continues to grow. Check out the video to the left to get full detailed story on how it all started as well as an update on where everything is at now! It's truly a production! We chatted with Taylor recently to learn more about this multitalented individual. What follows has been edited for clarity and length. I am currently in the process of remodeling it and setting up a space that will allow for race car storage, an area for content creation, and room for the ATR brand to grow. AT: I was I raced it in the Daily Driver class.
With her 6. Her high-speed life includes racing, hosting Hot Rod Garage on Motor Trend, creating content for her popular social media channels, and even buying her own shop. We caught up to Alex barely following her six-second performance at Sick Week. We came in and tested and it started off good the first couple passes and then we had so many random issues. We ended up pulling the converter because we put in a new stator. Then, by the end of it, we realized our actual issue was we had a brand new transmission and there was no converter charge pressure and nothing that we did could get the converter charge pressure up. So we decided to put old trusty the transmission back in. We fixed it finally, but we went into Sick Week not knowing what to expect.

Alex Taylor has been working towards a meaningful career in the automotive world, even before she knew what that might include. That was normal for me. As she progresses in the sport, she insists on continually learning and being as involved as possible on the mechanical end. I just wanted to do something. I want to know how it works and why it works, not just hop in it and drive. I just love to learn about it. Taylor could be found reviewing data on her laptop between passes, or getting the car switched over from the track setup to the street setup. Riding along gave Dennis a first-hand look at just how much Alex has learned under his tutelage over the years. I moved it one day here. I think of it as her car, and we just do this together.

Without these great people in Alex's life, this wouldn't be possible. At the age of 15, Alex and her parents began to build her car and at 16 her and her mom took it on Drag Week , and as they say, the rest is history!! We just borrowed it. Christian was infamous for his battles with Dennis has been the owner of this Nova since he was Currently the car is only certified to 8. Be on the look out for details on this build as he preps for Drag Week , because the car is coming back better than ever! YouTube, for me, is a lot more drawn out. And then Hot Rod Garage came up and like all this different stuff. I like to show details and tell stories and explain things, whereas on Hot Rod Garage, everything is a lot more summarized and fast-paced.

BUT, it was a blast to ride in and definetly put on a good show! I learned there that confidence is key, and the thing that matters most is how you present yourself. Connect with us. There support does not go unnoticed and it is greatly appreciated. Fans can expect to Dennis was determined to get the Nova into the 7's on Drag Week, but with a Turbo tranny that wasn't nearly strong enough, Dennis was unable to finish Drag Week and his fastest pass was an 8. I like having that mix, and if I had any kind of redundancy, it would drive me nuts. The days and the process of it is a lot easier so I enjoy it.
