It is nice that this is machine washable, it makes the finished project easy to care for. I did dry it flat although the label did not specify to do so. The fabric did not become noticeably softer or harder after washing and drying. This is not the softest acrylic I have ever felt but for its price I think that it compares well with other things that are out there. It is certainly not a scratchy acrylic and I could wear this next to skin.

I have had it on my mind to start doing some Aldi yarn reviews. This idea came about because I have found their yarn to be a bit hit and miss at times. One issue I can forsee with writing these reviews is that it can be hard for me to know when Aldi is releasing new yarn and at which shops they will be, but that is something for me to work out. Another issue is that Aldi does not keep the same things in stock for ever, they have a revolving range. So these reviews are sort of having a trial period for me and I will see how they work and whether anyone likes them. I knitted this 17 stitches wide and 22 rows tall with size 10mm needles. It does make a very dense fabric but not an unpleasant fabric. It is still soft against the skin so much so that I could wear it around my neck as a scarf without any issues. The yarn was also still quite energised from the spinning process so there was a bit of kink in my ball as I started from the centre, however as an experienced knitter this was no problem at all, it may however, bother a new knitter. I did a wash and dry test.

So you can imagine my excitement when I saw the vast array of warm products recently at my local Aldi: electric blankets, electric mattress pads, slippers, warm socks, scarves, fleece sheets, and more. I had to resist the urge to buy every single warm thing in the store. They also wear well with time, as they are often thicker and sturdier than flannel sheets. These sheets are just as soft and warm as I expected. The fleece sheets come in Queen or King sizes, and my Aldi had two colors in stock: beige and a red-and-white pattern. It looks great and will still provide lots of warmth. I like the variety of settings; I can start out on a high setting to warm up the bed and then turn it down before actually going to sleep.
