First visited the restaurant just after it opened but was a bit underwhelmed. Thought it was worth a return visit as it's both local and will allow BYO; providing an alternative to Scopri just down the road. Very glad we did From carefully sourced NSW oysters to a technically astute venison carpaccio with cherry and vanilla oil, to a wonderful saffron Moreton Bay bug spaghetti everything we had managed to be both refined and packed a massive flavour punch. The Latte e Miele dessert a revelation!

Our group of 6 mostly well behaved senior gentlemen visited Al Dente for a Friday luncheon and were seated in the warm and inviting casual Sapori section of the restaurant. We devised a tasting menu under the guidance of front of house part owner Michelle. What followed was a procession of exceptional dishes,all innovative,stimulating and full of flavour, with the sauces,ingredients and presentation confirming the talent in the kitchen. There were several highlights and no disappointments for our experienced "foodie" group - the scallop,salted cod ravioli and duck come to mind. The service lead by Michelle was professional,attentive and friendly and included fine touches like shared dishes apportioned and plated for us. A dinner with the wife is already planned in the more formal adjoining Enoteca section of the restaurant.

Cacio e pepe tortellini — another lockdown classic — makes regular appearances. Pre-made sauces include Sicilian pesto, truffle butter, lemon curd, and slow-cooked lamb ragu and bolognaise.
