The former stuntman is one of the most fascinating up-and-coming action stars. Over the past few years, action fans have been treated to a run of solid French programming on Netflix.

What Was Kelsey's Note About? Christine Blasey Ford. Those of us who grunted our way through one or both of the Lost Bullet movies may raise an eyebrow of interest in the general direction of AKA now on Netflix. In other words, bear down for some brutality, folks! The aforementioned has nothing to do with the majority of the plot here, but it does establish that Adam is a sociopath who can gun down a few dozen people and then go home for a peaceful little nappy-poo. Maybe breakfast tastes better after littering a landscape with corpses?

The former stuntman is one of the most fascinating up-and-coming action stars. Over the past few years, action fans have been treated to a run of solid French programming on Netflix. The latest entry in this burgeoning scene is AKA , a new Netflix pickup that stars Alban Lenoir as Adam Franco, a highly skilled special-ops agent faced with one of his most dangerous assignments yet. Franco is implanted undercover on the security team of a notorious crime lord infamous soccer legend Eric Cantona, a tough guy once suspended from the sport for kicking a fan. A few years after that came Lost Bullet , a tightly contained vehicular thriller where Lenoir plays Lino, a master mechanic and thief pulled into a scheme by crooked cops and framed for murder. In order to prove his innocence, he has to find the last remaining piece of evidence from the crime — a single lost bullet. Lost Bullet and Lost Bullet 2 are among the best action movies of the decade, using simple narratives to construct elaborate, kinetic set pieces. His characters get hit plenty, and are frequently exhausted by the grueling fights they wind up in. AKA sees him reuniting with director and co-writer Morgan S. Dalibert, the cinematographer on the Lost Bullet movies.

Your patience will be rewarded! While watching AKA, you won't gain much insight into the ideology behind modern-day terrorists. In the Lost Bullet films, he showed he had charisma and acting chops, qualities I feel Dalibert's lack of directing skills were to blame for not bringing out the best of Lenoir in this film. The intensity comes from the very direct action scenes and all the plotting and scheming going on. Instead, he is a complex and multi-layered character with a heart and soul. It's puzzling why nobody is pursuing Adam after he eliminates numerous soldiers, but there's a hint that Marconnet's influence has waned when the media exposes his scheme to blame the innocent but now deceased Moktar. It is mean, lean and vicious - it also feels "real". At this point we are less than 10 minutes into the movie. Political correctness is not solely a Hollywood phenomenon, as exemplified by the new French-language action thriller AKA. I am impressed. Overall, "AKA" is a must-see movie that combines heart, action, and drama in all the right ways.

What Is The '3 Body Problem'?

He is to assume the identity of an infamous criminal by the name of Adam Franco during the operation. Adam however improbably proves himself to be a humanitarian, especially when he decides against killing Moktar and saves his daughter. Jamel Elgharbi Bogdan. This woman, it turns out, was a progressive social activist journalist. It starts with the photography which is done especially to hide, obscure, or not emphasize the lips. Both due to the intelligent and complex story as well as the awesome action scenes! Secret agent baddi from the military with a soft spot in his heart for a young kid. I can't say more without it being a spoiler, so i'll just leave it at this Edit page. To earn extra points with Pastore, Franco rescues the young son of his mistress from a rival gangster, a boy he took a liking to because no one except the kid's sister had the time and attention for him. De Los. He struggles with the weight of his actions and the consequences of his choices, especially when he unexpectedly bonds with the boss's young son. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment even if the animals are just really good actors. Runtime 2 hours 2 minutes. I guess this monosyllabic slab has a heart somewhere under all that meat after all.
