A popular part of the Anime community online is to create fan art of their favorite characters. Fan art is often done as a way to express your appreciation for a character, and also a willingness to see them explored in a way different from how the author intended. At the same time however, why do many fan artists make characters do the ahegao double peace pose and what does it even mean besides looking creepy? An ahegao double peace pose is a picture that has two core components featured. The first component is the placement of the hands, for they have to be raised up near the character's face, with their palms facing towards the viewer and their middle and index finger up while the others are down, in a classic peace sign. The second component, the most important one as it distinguishes ahegao from ehegao images, is the emotion on the face. In a typical Ahegao face, the pupils are rarely seen, and when they are it is typically in a heart-shaped pattern. The cheeks are often colored in as rosy, with a noticeable smile or grin that indicates the emotion attempting to be portrayed, unrestrained joy that is overwhelming to the character. Oftentimes, the proper usage of an ahegao double peace pose in terms of fan art is to take a popular character, such as Hatsune Miku , and do a zoomed-in drawing of her face. With the face drawn, simply adding in the double peace hands completes the pose, and it is most often used to show that the character is having a good time, while usually being in an innocent setting meant to make the viewer imagine something more lewd is happening out of frame.
