The world of Game of Thrones has an extensive history, which the many spinoffs plan to explore, aenys targaryen no matter what story they tell, one thing remains consistent: the families. With their unique ability to ride dragons, it's no surprise that they make such an impact, especially considering their stronghold on the Iron Throne, aenys targaryen.
Aenys was the son of Aegon the Conqueror by his sister-wife Rhaenys. Because of the death of his mother early in his life, he was raised mostly by the servants of the Red Keep. He was not a warrior and was not considered a strong successor to Aegon the Dragon, being considered a barely capable warrior. He rode a dragon named Quicksilver and their bonding allowed him to grow strong. He was considered in his youth quite charming, making friends easily, especially with women. Aenys ascended the throne upon Aegon I's death in 37 AL, but whilst the Faith of the Seven had proved able to stomach Aegon's bigamy and incest due to his strength, they sensed Aenys was not as resolute. As the product of an incestuous union, they considered him to be an aberration and launched a full-scale uprising against him.

Born with spindly limbs, he cried all the time, once having a fit that lasted for a fortnight. When wet nurses tried to breast feed him he refused everyone, only taking milk from his mother. This ofcourse sparked rumors that he was the son of a mummer and not in fact the true son of Aegon I. Always a sick and weak boy, doubts arose that he could survive past the destruction his mother's death brought upon his pyshce. Visenya felt in necessary to provide an heir in case one was needed but the hatching of Quicksilver helped quickly improve his condition. He never grew close to his half brother as his father always kept him close to his side while on King's Landing. While he was trained by his father's kingsguard he lack his brothers size and strength. In the year 22 ac he married one Alyssa Velaryon, which was strictly a political match. From this match they had six children, three of which were sons and three of which were daughters. The sons were named Aegon, Viserys and Jaehaerys while the daughters were given the names, Rhaena, Alysanne, and Vaella. In 37 ac while in Highgarden he learned of his father's death do to a stroke. After he had gone to Dragonstone and been coronated he gifted the sword Blackfyre to his half brother, Maegor.

Like his parents, Aenys became a dragonrider with Quicksilver being his mount. The Conquest was still within living memory, however, and many still chafed under Targaryen rule - and saw the death of Aegon I as an opportunity to throw off their rule. Several localized rebellions therefore broke out at the beginning of Aenys's reign, such as the insurrection of the " Vulture King " in the Red Mountains along the border with independent Dorne , but these uprisings were ultimately put down - not really due to Aenys's leadership, but capable local rulers such as House Tarly , among others. The Targaryens had incestuously married brother to sister for generations whenever possible to "keep the bloodline pure", in the custom of their Valyrian ancestors - which the Faith of the Seven in Westeros considered an abomination.
Rhaena was wed to her own younger brother, Aegon , by her father King Aenys, according to Valyrian custom. The leadership of the Faith of the Seven , who already had strained relations with the crown, condemned this incestuous union, and the Faith Militant revolted against the Targaryens. Rhaena's husband died in battle against Maegor the Cruel , who had usurped Aegon's throne shortly after the death of King Aenys. Some time later, Maegor took Rhaena to wife, making her one of the " Black Brides ," women whom Maegor widowed and then married. When the realm rose in rebellion against Maegor's rule in favor of Prince Jaehaerys , Rhaena escaped the Red Keep on her dragon Dreamfyre and joined her younger brother's cause.

House of the Dragon spent the first season expanding on much of the lore that viewers were only introduced to in Game of Thrones , and the complex Targaryen family tree will only get more complicated as the show continues. Prince Aegon became a major player in one fell swoop after Viserys' death, and Aemond may have just started a war with his actions in the first season's finale.
The sons were named Aegon, Viserys and Jaehaerys while the daughters were given the names, Rhaena, Alysanne, and Vaella. Aenys I and Maegor each believed themselves to be the rightful ruler of Westeros. Whatever the case, barely an hour after Aenys's body was cremated, Visenya flew to Pentos on Vhagar to retrieve Maegor, who flew back with her to Westeros riding Balerion. Aenys and Alyssa had three sons and two daughters, who in order were: Rhaena, Aegon, Viserys, Jaehaerys, and Alysanne. The family conflict that follows sets into motion the rise of Jaehaerys and his lineage that appears in House of the Dragon, so it's not surprising that the Targaryen would have yet another dispute over the Iron Throne. Rhaenys was the gentler of the queens, and her son reflected that. A teaser for House of the Dragon : Season 2 has been released, confirming a summer premiere. Some suspect that Visenya poisoned Aenys, as she had always pushed to further her own son Maegor over him his entire life and it was bizarre that she would volunteer to help heal him.
